BNP leaders and workers attacked the police without any provocation, it has been alleged by police. However, “Prothom Alo” has reported that a police vehicle ploughed through a procession of BNP activists and it triggered the outbreak of a pitched battle between the police and the BNP activists.
We remember how the police during the regime of Ershad drove police vehicle over a procession of the students. Ershad eventually lost power…history stands as the witness.
Police will have to answer why the police truck ploughed through the procession today.

পুলিস দাবী করেছে বিনা উস্কানিতে বিএনপির নেতা-কর্মীরা তাদের উপরে হামলা করেছে। অথচ প্রথম আলো জানাচ্ছে, বিএনপির মিছিলের উপরে পুলিস গাড়ি তুলে দেয়। পুলিসের এই উস্কানিতেই সংঘাত হয়েছে এটা পরিস্কার।
আমাদের মনে আছে এরশাদ-বিরোধী আন্দোলনেও ছাত্রদের মিছিলে এরশাদের পুলিস ট্রাক তুলে দিয়েছিল। এরশাদ তার ক্ষমতা টিকায়ে রাখতে পারে নাই। ইতিহাস সাক্ষী।
পুলিসকে মিছিলে ট্রাক তুলে দেয়ার জবাব দিতে হবে।
