
Pinaki Bhattacharya is a Bangladeshi writer, activist, and social thinker whose debut novel, Fulkumari: The Tale of a Refugee and a Rat in Pandemic Paris, was published by PICT Books in Paris in 2025. The novel became an Amazon bestseller.
Living in exile in France, Bhattacharya is a Paris-based Bangladeshi and trained physician. He is an influential blogger and social activist, having been involved in the Leftist student movement during his younger years. With 19 books on Bangladesh’s political history, society, and human rights, he has become a prominent online figure. His YouTube channel boasts over 3.3 million followers, and he is also active on Facebook and Twitter. His insights on Bangladesh’s socio-political landscape and broader human rights concerns in the region are widely read by students, activists, and the general public.
Professionally, Pinaki has worked as a business executive in both multinational and local Bangladeshi firms. He holds an MBA from Sorbonne Business School in Paris and is currently pursuing a PhD in sustainability. Additionally, he works as a marketing professional at a renowned French multinational, one of the top Fortune 500 companies.
