A ruling Awami League leader is openly saying that his men will allow only his party’s supporters to cast their votes.
Opposition Oikya Front is taking part in such general election in Bangladesh. The ruling party leaders are openly threatening that they would not allow supporters of other parties inside the polling booths.
Very interestingly, the Election Commission is repeatedly insisting that the situation is normal, meaning a “level playing field” exists for all parties in the election. I would like to ask the international community if they too believe that in such situation the general election in Bangladesh is going to be “free, fair and all-inclusive”

আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা প্রকাশ্যেই বলছেন, নৌকার ভোটার ছাড়া আর কাউকে ভোট কেন্দ্রে যেতে দেবেন না।
এই অবস্থায় ঐক্য ফ্রন্ট নির্বাচন করছে। কারোর কাছেই এই অভিযোগ করে কোন বিচার যাচ্ছেনা বিরোধী দলেরা। নির্বাচন কমিশন সব কিছুই স্বাভাবিক আছে বলে দাবী করছে। তারা বলছে তাদের বিবেচনায় “লেভেল প্লেয়িং ফিল্ড” আছে।
আমি আন্তর্জাতিক সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে জানতে চাই, আপনাদেরও কি মনে হয় নির্বাচন অবাধ ও নিরপেক্ষ হচ্ছে বাংলাদেশে?
