Indians were caught in war hysteria for some days. We can term it mass sickness. None will be a winner if a war breaks out between two nuclear power countries.
However, I hope the warmongering Indians have come back to their senses now. BJP sought to boost their electoral fortune in the upcoming elections using the war hysteria in the country. However, the BJP’s plans lay in tatters yesterday after the photos and video clips of the bloodied Indian fighter jet pilot in Pakistani custody surfaced yesterday. As soon as India admitted that Abhinandan Varthaman, who had been captured in Pakistan, was an Indian Air Force Wing Commander, the war hysteria among the Indian jingoistic warmongers began dying down.
However, the war hysteria among the civil society members in India has surprised me the most. These people or their children would not go to fight the war. But, to satisfy their ego, they want to see others fighting the war or even returning home in coffin.
Usually two nuclear power countries keep avoiding a situation like war. But, BJP-led India whipped up war hysteria in the country by seeking to push the country towards war, with an aim to reap up a good harvest during the upcoming general election. Now, the capture of the Indian fighter pilot in Pakistan has shattered India’s dreams. Now the situation of India is like it has been caught in a trap which was laid out by itself.
We all have equal shares in the history and legacy of this Indian subcontinent. Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism helped enrich the civilisation across the Indus Basin. We may follow different religion, but following the legacy of our forefathers, we are all brothers. We would have built a wonderful unity among ourselves. But, today we are all out to finish off each other. Vengeance is the order of the day.
I hope Pakistan will take good care of the captive Indian pilot before letting him return to India honourably. I am sort of dead sure that Pakistan will treat him very well and this greatness of Pakistan will succeed to kill the war hysteria in the subcontinent.
Let the humanity rise in support of peace. It will help keep the society away from foolish war hysteria.

ভারতের মানুষ যুদ্ধ হিস্টেরিয়ায় ভুগছিলো। এইটাকে আমরা গণ অসুস্থতা বলতে পারি। আশা করি ভারতের জনগণের গতকাল থেকে সম্বিত ফিরেছে।
পারমানবিক শক্তিধর দুই দেশে যুদ্ধ বাধলে কেউই জিতবে না। যুদ্ধ উন্মাদনাকে কাজে লাগিয়ে নির্বাচনী বৈতরনী পার হওয়ার বিজেপির পরিকল্পনায় গতকালকের আটককৃত রক্তাক্ত ভারতীয় পাইলটের ছবি-ভিডিও পানি ঢেলে দিয়েছে।
আমাকে সবচেয়ে অবাক করেছে ভারতের সিভিল সোসাইটির যুদ্ধ উন্মাদনা। এরা তো নিজেরা যুদ্ধে যাবেনা তাদের ইগোকে তৃপ্ত করার জন্য পরের ছেলে সেনা পোশাক পরে যুদ্ধে যাক আর কফিন বন্দি হয়ে ফিরে আসুক এই ছিলো ভারতের সিভিল সোসাইটির ইচ্ছা। পারমাণবিক শক্তিধর দুই দেশের যুদ্ধ লাগার সম্ভাবনা ক্ষীণ থাকে, তবুও যুদ্ধ যুদ্ধ ভাব করে একটা ফায়দা নেয়ার যে চেষ্টা ভারত করতে গেছিলো সেটায় ভারতের মুখেই চুনকালি পড়েছে।
ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশের ইতিহাস আর ঐতিহ্যের আমরা সবাই সম অধিকারী। সিন্ধু অববাহিকায় যে সুপ্রাচীন মহান সভ্যতা জন্ম নিয়েছিলো সেই সভ্যতা পরিপুষ্ট হয়েছে পৃথিবীর প্রধান তিন ধর্ম হিন্দু, মুসলিম আর বৌদ্ধ ঐতিহ্যে। আমাদের ধর্ম যাই হোক আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষের রক্তের উত্তরাধিকারে আমরা পরস্পরের ভাই। এই অপুর্ব বৈচিত্রের উত্তরাধিকার থেকে আমরা এক অভাবনীয় ঐক্য গড়ে তুলতে পারতাম। অথচ আমরা আছি কে কাকে কীভাবে নিশ্চিহ্ন করবো সেই তরিকা খুঁজতে। কে কার উপরে প্রতিশোধ নেবে তার তরিকা খুঁজতে।
আমি আশা করবো পাকিস্তান আটককৃত ভারতীয় বায়ুসেনাকে সুচিকিৎসা দিয়ে সসন্মানে ভারতে ফেরৎ পাঠাবে। পাকিস্তানের এই উদারতা এক রক্তক্ষয়ী অনাগত যুদ্ধের সম্ভাবনাকে এক নিমিষেই উড়িয়ে দিতে পারবে বলেই আমার বিশ্বাস।
শান্তির স্বপক্ষে বিশ্ব মানবতা জেগে উঠুক। সকলের নির্বোধ যুদ্ধ উন্মাদনা বন্ধ হোক।
