We all know how the December 30 general election was massively rigged. But, ruling Awami League said, people voted for the party because the government led by it had done huge amount of development-related work. But, the fact is, in the past decade, the rich became richer, economic disparity widened and unemployment rate increased. And, most notably, the nation has been plundered in an unprecedented style.
Take a look at this news. To build every kilometre of dual gauge railway track on the Sylhet-Akhaura route they are spending over 71 crore or 710 million takas (USD 8.46 million) in Bangladesh now. Recently, the cost to build each kilometre of dual gauge track in the country was 8.75 crore or 87.5 million takas (USD 1.43 million). A N M Ajijul Haque, the joint chief of the railway ministry said: “Spending a big amount here is not a big issue. (People should note that) we are setting up an important railway line.”
This is a classic example of how public fund is plundered in Bangladesh. But, the senior government official says in an arrogant style that the big expenditure is not an issue.
In China, they spend 12.5 crore takas to build one kilometre of rail track. In India this cost is around 15 crore takas. And, in Pakistan, it costs around 15 crore takas. In most countries around the world the standard cost to build one km of rail track is 23 crore to 31 crore takas. In Bangladesh this cost is several times more.
The government is laying rail tracks across the country. There is no doubt that the actual expenses to lay each kilometre of track in Bangladesh is around 12 or 12.5 crore takas. This way they are looting a huge amount of public fund. A good amount of the plundered money is going out of the country through special channels. According to several reports, 6 lakh crore takas of stolen funds were secretly sent out of the country during the Awami League regime.
This Awami League regime is like a new East India Company which treats Bangladesh as its colony. To them, Bangladesh is a place for looting. Strangely, the Awami League-groomed so-called intellectuals and journalists are engaged in the propaganda that only Awami League can take the best care of the country.
If by looting the nation this way they are providing best service to the country, we have to accept all rapes as expressions of love!

গত জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে ভোট নিয়ে নজীরবিহীন প্রহসনকে জায়েজ করার জন্য আওয়ামী লীগ বলেছে তারা এতো উন্নয়ন করেছে তাই জনগণ ভোট দিয়েছে। অথচ আওয়ামী শাসনের দশ বছরে ধনী আরো ধনী হয়েছে, বৈষম্য বেড়েছে, বেকারত্ব বেড়েছে। আর সবচেয়ে বেশী যেটা হয়েছে তা হচ্ছে নজিরবিহীন লুটপাট।
সিলেট-আখাউড়া রেলপথ নির্মাণ প্রসঙ্গে এই খবরটা দেখুন। প্রতি কিলোমিটার রেলপথ নির্মানে ৭১ কোটি টাকার বেশি ব্যয় হচ্ছে এখন। অথচ এই বাংলাদেশেই প্রতি কিলোমিটারে একই সময়ে পৌনে নয় কোটি টাকা খরচ হয়েছে।
রেলপথ মন্ত্রণালয়ের যুগ্ম প্রধান আ. ন. ম. আজিজুল হক বলেছেন, “বেশি ব্যয় ফ্যাক্টর নয়। রেলপথটা নির্মাণ জরুরি।” জনগণের টাকার এই লুটপাট নিয়ে প্রশ্ন করায়, সরকারী কর্মচারী উদ্ধতভাবে বলে, ব্যয় কোন ফ্যাক্টর না। টাকাটা যেন উনার পৈত্রিক সম্পত্তি।
চিনে প্রতি কিলোমিটার রেলপথ তৈরিতে ব্যয় হয় সাড়ে বারো কোটি টাকা, ভারতে বারো কোটি টাকা, আর পাকিস্তানে ১৫ কোটি টাকা। পৃথিবীতে স্ট্যান্ডার্ড খরচ ধরা হয় প্রতি কিলোমিটারে ২৩-৩১ কোটি টাকা। আর বাংলাদেশে এই রেলপথ তৈরী হচ্ছে আরো কয়েকগুণ বেশী টাকায়।
শুধু তাই নয় প্রতি কিলোমিটারে ঢাকা- পায়রা বন্দর রেলপথে ব্যয় হয়েছে ২৫০ কোটি টাকা, ঢাকা-যশোর রেল সংযোগে ব্যয় হয়েছে ২০৩ কোটি টাকা, দোহাজারি-ঘুনধুম রেলপথে ব্যয় হয়েছে ১৩৯ কোটি টাকা। এটা অনুমান করা কষ্ট নয় চিন বা ভারতের মতোই প্রতি কিলোমিটারে বারো বা সাড়ে বারো কোটি টাকাই খরচ হয়েছে বাংলাদেশে আর বাকী টাকাটা লুটপাট হয়েছে। এই টাকা দেশে থাকেনি, পাচার হয়েছে। আওয়ামী শাসনামলে ছয় লাখ কোটি টাকা পাচার হয়েছে দেশের বাইরে।
বাংলাদেশের শাসক এখন এক নব্য ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানী। বাংলাদেশ তাদের কাছে উপনিবেশ। এই বাংলাদেশ তাদের কাছে লুটপাটের জায়গা। অথচ কি আশ্চর্য তাদের পোষ্য দালাল সাংবাদিক, বুদ্ধিজীবিরা প্রচার করে বেড়ায় এই আওয়ামী লীগ ক্ষমতায় না থাকলে দেশের মহা সর্বনাশ হয়ে যাবে, তারাই দেশের সবচেয়ে নিরাপদ রক্ষক।
লাগামহীন লুটপাটের আরেক নাম যদি “দেশের সেবা” হয়, তাহলে ধর্ষণকেও ভালোবাসার এক প্রকাশ বলে আমাদের মেনে নিতে হবে।
