Many ordinary people in India and Hindus in Bangladesh believe Awami League takes best care of the Hindus. But, in a research Awami League intellectual Abul Barakat found that people from his party outsmarted all others in the race to grab the Hindu properties in Bangladesh. The party, which is known as a historical friend of India in Bangladesh, forcibly took away 44.2% properties of the Hindu properties, Mr Barakat found. Very strangely, Hindus in Bangladesh overwhelmingly support Awami League and this party leads in persecuting the Hindus.
Take a look at this news. Mohammad Abdul Khalek, general secretary of Saturia upojela Juboleague, and his colleague Shahinur Islam tried to abduct Deepak Basak’s wife Tumpa from Bhandaripara. Deepak said, his wife worked at a private school. The Juboleague leader often followed Tumpa on her way to the school and teased her. Despite several complaints the local Awami Leadership did not act against Khalek.
Tumpa attempted suicide, Deepak said.
“That Juboleague leader came to my house on Saturday and said ‘your wife has married me after divorcing you’,” Deepak said. “When we sought proof of the marriage, Farooq, another Juboleague leader, showed us a (marriage) document with stamp, but no signature. Later they tried to drag my wife down from the first floor aiming to take her away.”
A ruling party leader is openly trying to abduct a wife from a minority Hindu family. Could anyone explain me how Awami League is providing best security to the Hindus in Bangladesh? We all know how Awami League leaders and activists persecute Hindus in Bangladesh. Why is this party still considered by many as the protectors of the Hindus?

এমন একটা ধারণা ভারতের সাধারণ জনগণ ও বাংলাদেশের হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে আছে যে আওয়ামী লীগ বাংলাদেশের হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের সুরক্ষা দেয়।
আওয়ামী লীগের বদ্ধিজীবি আবুল বারাকাতের গবেষণায় জানা গেছে, ৪৪.২ শতাংশ জমি দখল করে হিন্দু সম্পত্তি গ্রাসের প্রতিযোগিতায় সবচেয়ে এগিয়ে আছে বাংলাদেশে ভারতের ঐতিহাসিক ও নির্ভরযোগ্য মিত্র বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগ! পরিহাসের বিষয়, এই আওয়ামী লীগই সবচেয়ে বেশী হিন্দুদের সমর্থন পায়, এঁদের ক্ষমতার জ্বালানি হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে কিন্তু, একই সাথে হিন্দুদের নিপীড়নও নিশ্চিত করে!

দীপক জানান, তার স্ত্রী টুম্পা বসাক একটি বেসরকারি স্কুলে চাকরি করেন। প্রায় দুই বছর ধরে স্কুলে আসা যাওয়ার পথে ওই যুবলীগ নেতা তাকে উক্ত্যক্ত করেন। বিষয়টি স্থানীয় আওয়ামী লীগ নেতাদের জানানো হলেও কোন লাভ হয়নি। তিনি বলেন, ওই যুবলীগ নেতার অত্যাচারে আমার স্ত্রী কিছুদিন আগে গলায় ফাঁস দিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করতে গিয়েছিল। শনিবার আমার বাসায় গিয়ে ওই যুবলীগ নেতা আমাকে বলেন, ‘তোর স্ত্রী তোকে তালাক দিয়ে আমাকে বিয়ে করেছে।’ এ সময় বিয়ের প্রমাণ দেখতে চাইলে যুবলীগ নেতা ফারুক স্বাক্ষরবিহীন স্ট্যাম্প দেখায়। পরে আমার স্ত্রীর হাত ধরে দুইতলা থেকে তাকে নিচে টেনে হিঁচড়ে নামানোর চেষ্টা করে।
এখন প্রশ্ন হচ্ছে এই হিন্দু পরিবারটি যাবে কোথায়? বাসায় এসে যদি স্ত্রীকে তুলে নিয়ে যেতে চায় ক্ষমতাসীন আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা তাহলে এই সরকার হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের কোন সুরক্ষাটি দিচ্ছে? হিন্দুদের সম্পত্তি দখলে যেই দলটি চ্যাম্পিয়ন সেই দলটিকে হিন্দুদের একমাত্র সহায় হিসেবে কেনই বা প্রচার করা হয়?
