Oikya Front candidate Afroza Abbas has been attacked again during her election campaign. The accompanying video clearly shows that Mrs Abbas and her supporters were in a peaceful procession when the attack took place in the presence of police. It even shows that the police took the side of the Awami League goons during the attack.
This is the third time that Mrs Abbas has been attacked during her campaign in the past few days. Yet, the Election Commissioner of Bangladesh claims that a level playing field indeed exists for all parties participating in the forthcoming election.

আবারো ঐক্য ফ্রন্টের প্রার্থী আফরোজা আব্বাসের নির্বাচনী গণসংযোগে হামলা হল।
এবারও পুলিশের উপস্থিতিতেই হামলা হল। ভিডিওতে স্পষ্টই দেখা যাচ্ছে আফরোজা আব্বাসের শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচনী মিছিলকে আওয়ামী লীগের গুণ্ডারা পিছন থেকে লাঠিসোটা নিয়ে নির্বিচারে আক্রমণ করছে এবং পুলিশ নিস্ক্রিয়ভাবে সেই দৃশ্য অবলোকন করছে। পুলিশ যে আক্রমনকারীদের আদৌ আটকাচ্ছেনা বা অ্যারেস্ট করছেনা তাও স্পষ্ট এই ভিডিওতে।
আফরোজা আব্বাসের উপর এমনি আক্রমণ গত কয়েক দিনে তৃতীয়বারের মতো ঘটলো। তবুও নির্বাচন কমিশনার দাবী করছেন নির্বাচনে সকল দলের জন্যই লেভেল প্লেয়িং ফিল্ড আছে।
