Goons of ruling Awami League have laid siege to Kalma village in Rajshahi district because the villagers largely voted for the opposition coalition. A day after the election, the armed hoodlums took control of the two main entry points of the village.
The Awami League men did not allow the villagers move out of their homes and stopped plying of all types of vehicles there. They took control of the village’s main deep tube well used for irrigation and disconnected all satellite TV connections there. Can we call this a civilized nation?

বিরোধী দলীয় প্রার্থীকে ভোট দেয়ার “অপরাধে” পুরো গ্রামকে অবরুদ্ধ করে রেখেছে সরকারী দল আওয়ামী লীগের গুণ্ডাবাহিনী। ভোটের পরদিনই লাঠিসোটা নিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগের লোকেরা অবস্থান নেন রাজশাহীর কলমা গ্রামের প্রবেশ পথ দুটিতে।
বিল্লি এবং দরগাডাঙ্গা মোড়ে অবস্থান নিয়ে তারা গ্রামের দিকে সব ধরণের যানবাহন চলাচল বন্ধ করে দেন। এমনকি, বাইসাইকেল ও রিকশা-ভ্যানের চলাচলও বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয়।আওয়ামী লীগের লোকেরা গ্রামের সেচকাজে ব্যবহৃত গভীর নলকূপটিও দখল করে নিয়েছেন। এছাড়াও, বন্ধ করে দিয়েছেন টেলিভিশনের স্যাটেলাইট সংযোগ।
সভ্য দুনিয়ায় এমন ঘটনা ঘটেনা। বাংলাদেশে মানুষ অধিকারহীন হয়ে ইদানিং এমন অবস্থাতেই দিনযাপন করছে।
