Even the candidates of the Leftist alliance are not being spared from ruling party attacks. Election campaign of the Leftist alliance candidate Junaid Saki has been targeted. His party workers have been beaten up. Banners-festoons-posters, related to his election campaign, have been torn apart and the ruling party cadres are not allowing him campaign freely for the election.
It seems the ruling party does not want any other party to take part in the election. They are doing mockery in the name of holding a “free fair and all-inclusive” election? Ruling party goons are attacking the election campaign of the opposition parties routinely. The Election Commission has done nothing to stop the attacks apart from issuing a statement which said they were “embarrassed”.

শুধু ঐক্য ফ্রন্টের প্রার্থীই নয় বাম জোটের প্রার্থী জোনায়েদ সাকির নির্বাচনী প্রচারে বারেবারে বাধা দেয়া হচ্ছে। পোস্টার ছিঁড়ে ফেলা হচ্ছে, কর্মীদের পিটানো হচ্ছে, নির্বাচনী জনসংযোগে হামলা চালানো হচ্ছে।
শাসক দল যদি চায় আর কেউ নির্বাচনে অংশ গ্রহণ না করুক তাহলে নির্বাচন নামের এই তামাশা করার দরকার কী? প্রত্যেকদিন নজিরবিহীন ভাবে বিরোধী দলের উপরে ধারাবাহিক হামলাতেও নির্বাচন কমিশন শুধু ” বিব্রত ” হওয়া ছাড়া আর কোন ব্যবস্থা নেয়নি।
