Chhatraleague, the student wing of Awami League, is an unscrupulous dishonest organisation. After BUET student Abrar was lynched by Chhatraleague activists of his university, Chhatraleague president said: “Chhatraleague never asks anyone to beat up others.”
But, two weeks ago the Chhatraleague president had said: “Anyone who tries to show audacity targeting Sheikh Hasina would be skinned alive.” That comment was published in at least one national daily. Chhatraleague functions as a gang of goons catering to the interest of the fascist Hasina-led government. During the quota reform and safe road movements armed Chhatraleague leaders and workers violently attacked the demonstrating students and left them bloodied.
Top leadership of Awami League assigns Chhatraleague to violently attack certain people or groups. To stay on in power the fascist rulers have turned a section of the youth into a private militia. It is disappointing to see how the youths are playing into the hands of Awami League.
After the fall of Awami League, these Chhatraleague leaders and activists will certainly face a horrifying level of reprisals from the persecuted and aggrieved people.

আওয়ামী লীগের ছাত্র সংগঠন ছাত্রলীগ একটি অসৎ সংগঠন। ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি গতকাল প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র আবরারকে একই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রলীগের কর্মিরা হলের মধ্যেই পিটিয়ে খুন করে ফেলার পরে বলেছে, “ছাত্রলীগ কাউকে পেটানোর নির্দেশনা দেয়না” ।
অথচ সে নিজেই দুই সপ্তাহ আগে বলেছে, “শেখ হাসিনাকে নিয়ে কেউ ধৃষ্টতা দেখালে পিঠের চামড়া থাকবে না” । সেই বক্তব্য জাতীয় দৈনিকেও প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। ছাত্রলীগ ফ্যাসিস্ট হাসিনা সরকারের একটা প্রাইভেট পেটোয়া বাহিনী হিসেবেই কাজ করে। কোটা সংস্কার আন্দোলনে, নিরাপদ সড়কের আন্দোলনে তারাই আন্দোলনরত ছাত্রদের উপরে অস্ত্র শস্ত্র নিয়ে ঝাপিয়ে পরে স্কুল কলেজের ছাত্রদের রক্তাক্ত করেছে।
ছাত্রলীগ পেটানোর কন্ট্রাক্ট নেয় দলের শীর্ষ নেতৃত্বের কাছে থেকে। দেশের তরুণ সম্প্রদাইয়ের একাংশকে ফ্যাসিস্ট শাসক নিজেদের ক্ষমতা ধরে রাখার লাঠিয়ালে পরিনত করেছে এটা দেখাটাও হতাশার।
আওয়ামী লীগের পতন হলে বিক্ষুব্ধ অত্যাচারিত জনগন এই ছাত্রলীগের লাঠিয়ালদের কী দশা করে সেটা ভাবলেই আতংক জাগে।
