Mayor of Shahjadpur fired from his shotgun and it took the life of Daily Samakal reporter Abdul Hakim Shimul. Shimul suffered gunshots when he was performing his professional duty. When two rival Awami League (AL) groups were fighting with each other in Manirampur of Shahjadpur, Shimul, the local Samakal representative, went to the spot on a reporting assignment and he was shot on Thursday.
Reports in the media say, it was the mayor who fired from his gun. Jamuna TV has reported, Shimul was shot by the ruling party leader (mayor) when he was “taking photos of illegal arms” used during the fight.
The mayor was leading one group when he fired from his gun. This shooting to death of Shimul shows how in the country we have installed some rogue elements to power.
We have seen in the past how an AL Member of Parliament injured a child by shooting from his gun. They are firing at the people and even hacking them to death. They enjoy impunity and they are remorseless.
The rights to freedom of political expressions in the state and society have been taken away using force. So, the conflicts in the society are taking violent routes through the rogue elements in the ruling party. Poor innocent citizens are being targeted in such violence, unfortunately.
শাহজাদপুরের পৌর মেয়রের শটগানের ছোড়া গুলিতে দৈনিক সমকালের সাংবাদিক আব্দুুল হাকিম শিমুলকে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। শিমুল পেশাগত দায়িত্বপালনকালে পৌর মেয়রের ছোঁড়া গুলিতে নিহত হয়। শাহজাদপুরের মনিরামপুরে বৃহস্পতিবার আওয়ামী লীগের দু’পক্ষের নেতাকর্মীদের সংঘর্ষের সময় সংবাদ সংগ্রহ করতে গিয়ে গুলিবিদ্ধ সমকালের শাহজাদপুর প্রতিনিধি আবদুল হাকিম শিমুল মারা যান।
মিডিয়া বলছে মেয়র নিজেই নিজের শটগান থেকে গুলিটা করেছিলেন। যমুনা টিভি রিপোর্ট করেছে যে শাসক দলের এই নেতা (মেয়র) নিজেই সাংবাদিককে গুলি করেছে যখন সাংবাদিক সংঘর্ষের সময় ব্যবহৃত অবৈধ অস্ত্রের ছবি তুলছিলেন।
নির্বাচিত মেয়র নিজ দলের দুই গ্রুপের সংঘর্ষে এক পক্ষের হয়ে নেতৃত্ব দেন, প্রাণঘাতী অস্ত্র দিয়ে গুলিও করেন, সেই গুলিতে নিহত হয় কর্তব্যরত সাংবাদিক। কোন ধরণের দুর্বৃত্তরা জনপ্রতিনিধির আসন দখল করে বসে আছে আর তারা কী ধরণের সুশাসন দিচ্ছে এটা বুঝতে হলে এই একটা ঘটনাই যথেষ্ট। এর আগেও এমপির ছোড়া গুলিতে এক শিশু আহত হয়েছিল। এরা মানুষকে কুপিয়ে গুলি করে পসুর মতো মেরে ফেলে। অথচ কোন বিকার নেই।
রাষ্ট্রে এবং সমাজে সব ধরণের রাজনৈতিক মত প্রকাশের রাস্তা বল প্রয়োগে বন্ধ করে দেয়া হয়েছে। তাই সমাজের সব দ্বন্দ্বগুলো শাসকের নিজ দলের দুর্বৃত্তদের আশ্রয় করে প্রকাশিত হচ্ছে। আর হতভাগ্য নির্বিবাদী জনতা দুর্ভাগ্যজনকভাবে সরকারীদলের এই সন্ত্রাসের বলি হচ্ছে।
