Students from some families of farmers, studying at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science & Technology University in Gopalganj, formed a human chain on May 15 seeking justified price for paddy. They held the peaceful demonstration only demanding a justified price for the crop. However, a fortnight later, the university authorities have issued a show cause notice to those students for carrying “anti-government” posters, festoons and making “provocative” statements on May 15.
The notice said: “You held the demonstration overenthusiastically without taking permission from the authorities and before any other university did. You carried anti-government placards, festoons and issued provocative statements during the demonstration with a conspiracy to destroy the education environment in the university. This amounted to a serious violation of discipline of the university.”
The Vice Chancellor of the university said, it was not expected that the students of the university would resort to any anti-government movement and deliver provocative speeches.
We should ask this VC- who nakedly supports this fascist regime- how the holding of a demonstration demanding justified price for paddy could be counted as an anti-government movement. Could this academician become a VC of a university in an independent nation if the Pakistani rulers took identical action against the university students who had taken part in the liberation war and the Language Movement? Did Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib do it wrong by participating in the movement against Pakistani government?
They are claiming that Bangladesh would become a new Europe in all terms. But, the fact is, they are doing everything which is needed to turn this country into another North Korea.

ধানের ন্যায্য মূল্য নিশ্চিত করার দাবিতে গত ১৫ মে গোপালগঞ্জ বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অধ্যয়নরত কৃষকের সন্তানরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সামনের সড়কে মানববন্ধন কর্মসূচি করেন। এই মানববন্ধনে শুধু ধানের ন্যায্য মূল্য নিশ্চিত করার দাবি করা হয়। তার ১৫ দিন পর, গত ৩০ মে সরকার ও প্রশাসন বিরোধী প্ল্যাকার্ড, ফেস্টুন বহন ও উস্কানিমূলক বক্তব্য দেয়ার দাবি করে ১৪ শিক্ষার্থীকে শোকজ করেছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রশাসন।
নোটিসে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে, “বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার পরিবেশ বিনষ্ট করার অভিপ্রায়ে প্রশাসনের অনুমতি ছাড়া সরকার ও প্রশাসন বিরোধী প্লাকার্ড, ফেস্টুন বহন ও উস্কানিমূলক বক্তব্য প্রদান করা এবং অত্যুৎসাহী হয়ে অন্য কোন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আন্দোলন করার আগেই আপনাদের আন্দোলন করা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শৃঙ্খলা পরিপন্থী একটি গর্হিত কাজ।”
ভিসি বলেছে, এ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা করে প্রশাসন ও সরকার বিরোধী আন্দোলন করবে, উস্কানিমূলক বক্তব্য দেবে এটি আমরা প্রত্যাশা করি না।
এই ফ্যাসিবাদের নিকৃষ্ট দালাল ভিসিকে জিজ্ঞেস করা উচিত ধানের ন্যায্য মূল্য দাবী করাটা কোন অর্থে সরকার বিরোধী আন্দোলন? পাকিস্তানি শাসকেরা যদি সরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়ার পর স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ আন্দোলন বা ভাষা আন্দোলন করার ক্ষেত্রে এমন ব্যবস্থা নিতো তবে তিনি কখনো একটা স্বাধীন দেশের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভিসি হতে পারতেন কিনা? ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়ে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব পাকিস্তান সরকার বিরোধী আন্দোলন করে কি তাহলে অন্যায় করেছিলেন?
বাংলাদেশ নিজে ইউরোপ, আমেরিকা হয়ে উঠবে বলে সরকার দাবী করলেও তারা আসলে দেশকে উত্তর কোরিয়াই বানাতে চায়।
