Dr Kamal Hossain is seeking a fresh election from the government. This is a fascist government which came to power through a massively manipulated election. Dr Hossain should be aware of this that it is (nearly) impossible to remove this fascist force through vote.
Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF) did it right by taking part in the December 30 (2018) general election because the international community believed that the opposition alliance had not done it right by boycotting the 2014 election. Ahead of the 2018 general election, Awami League-led government promised that it would hold a free, fair and all-inclusive election.
Now, after the JOF participated in the December 30 election and it was rigged massively two things have been clear:
1. The opposition alliance had done it right by boycotting 2014 general election.
2. Awami League and the government did not keep their promise that they would hold a free, fair and all-inclusive election.
For the JOF, there is no need now to seek another election to prove again that no free and fair election is possible under the partisan Awami League-led government. We have not forgotten Sheikh Hasina’s speech in which she said all law enforced and armed forces members had supported Awami League openly during the December 30 election.
Many believed, by participating in the December 30 election JOF would succeed to create at least a minimum space which would later be used to launch a larger political battle on the street. Sadly, JOF took part in the election, but did not show any ability or keenness to launch even a smaller movement on the street, taking along the mass support.
Awami League-led government has forged a set-up of law enforce agencies and armed forces members who make their best effort to keep the party in power. Dr Hossain should devise ways or think how a general election could be held keeping it free from the influences of these law enforcement agencies and armed forces.

ডঃ কামাল কার কাছে নির্বাচন চাইছেন? ডঃ কামাল হোসেনকেও বুঝতে হবে যে ফ্যাসিবাদী ক্ষমতাকে ভোট দিয়ে সরানো যায়না।
তিন মাস আগে ৩০ ডিসেম্বরের ভোটে যাওয়া দরকার ছিলো কারণ আন্তর্জাতিক সম্প্রদায় চেয়েছিলো বিরোধী দলগুলো যেন ভোটে যায়। তারা মনে করতো বিরোধী দলগুলোর ২০১৪ র নির্বাচন বর্জন করা ঠিক হয়নি। আওয়ামী লীগ জনগণকে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলো তারা দলীয় সরকারের অধীনেই একটা নিরপেক্ষ নির্বাচন দেবে। তাই সেই ভোটে যাওয়াকে অনেকেই সমর্থন দিয়েছে, কারণ এটা প্রমাণ করার দরকার ছিলো ২০১৪ র নির্বাচন বর্জন সঠিক ছিলো, আওয়ামী লীগ নির্বাচন নিয়ে দেশবাসী ও সারা পৃথিবীকে মিথ্যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছে।
একই জিনিস দুইবার প্রমাণ করার প্রয়োজন নাই। এমনকি এখন আওয়ামী লীগের সাজানো পার্টিজান প্রশাসনের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক সরকারের অধীনেও নিরপেক্ষ, অবাধ ও অংশগ্রহনমুলক নির্বাচন হবেনা। শেখ হাসিনা নিজেই বলেছে, (নির্বাচনে) আইন-শৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী এবং সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর সদস্য সকলেই আওয়ামী লীগের প্রতি প্রকাশ্যে সমর্থন জানিয়েছেন।
এছাড়া নির্বাচনে যাওয়ার পিছনে আরেকটা কারণ ছিলো, একটা মিনিমাম স্পেইস তৈরি করা যেন সেই স্পেইস দিয়ে একটা রাজপথের লড়াই তৈরি করা যায়। কিন্তু দুর্ভাগ্যজনকভাবে জাতীয় ঐক্যফ্রন্ট নির্বাচনে অংশ নেয়ার সুযোগে রাজপথের ন্যূনতম আন্দোলন করার সামর্থ্য বা ইচ্ছা কোনটাই দেখাতে পারেনি।
এখন বরং এটা ভেবে দেখুন আওয়ামী লীগের সাজানো পার্টিজান প্রশাসন যেমন আইন-শৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী এবং সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর সদস্য যারা নির্বাচনে আওয়ামী লীগের প্রতি প্রকাশ্যে সমর্থন জানায় তাদের প্রভাবের বাইরে কোন পদ্ধতিতে নির্বাচন হলে সেটা অবাধ ও নিরপেক্ষ করা যায়।
