Awami League goons attacked the campaign rally of general election candidate of CPB Aminul Faridin the presence of police. Aslam Khan, a central leader of CPB, has been beaten up. In Netrakona, CPB candidate Jolly Talukdar has faced a second violent attack. Awami League miscreants shut down the Chhatro Union office in Bogra.
Aminul and Aslam were my good friends during my younger days. We were comrades during our youth. It’s difficult to believe that popular and self-sacrificing leaders like them are being attacked in Bogra today. I got to know that Bogra, my native place, changed its characteristics when I some people aimed to attack me violently last winter.
Bogra is considered a BNP fort. We do not remember the CPB or Chhatro Union having ever been attacked during the BNP rule in the past. I hope my friends will alert me if I am making any mistake on this count.
Jhunu and Shanto, two Chhatra League leaders, were my good friends in the past. They still happen to be my good friends. I wonder how a bad Chhatra League guy like Toofan Sarkar came to be born in the same party where nice leaders like Jhunu and Shanto were born.
In the past 10 years, the Awami League rule has transformed many things including my city of Bogra immensely. Those good days when we found lots of things around to love are gone…I still dream that those days will return to us very soon.

পুলিসের সামনেই বগুড়াতে সিপিবি প্রার্থী আমিনুল ফরিদের সভায় আওয়ামী লীগের গুণ্ডারা হামলা চালিয়েছে। সিপিবির কেন্দ্রীয় নেতা আসলাম খানকে লাথি দিয়ে মঞ্চ থেকে ফেলে দিয়েছে। নেত্রকোনায় আবার সিপিবির প্রার্থী জলি তালুকদারের উপরে দ্বিতীয় বারের মত হামলা করেছে আওয়ামী লীগ। বগুড়াতে ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের অফিসে তালা লাগিয়ে দিয়েছে আওয়ামী গুণ্ডারা।
আমিনুল ফরিদ আর আসলাম খান দুজনেই আমার অতি ঘনিষ্ঠ আমাদের কৈশোর তারুন্য আর যৌবনের উত্তাল দিনগুলোতে আমরা একে অন্যের সহযোদ্ধা ছিলাম। বগুড়াতে তাদের মতো এমন জনপ্রিয় আর ত্যাগী নেতার সভায় হামলা হবে এটা অবিশ্বাস্য। তবে আমার জন্মভুমি বগুড়া পালটে গেছে সেটা বুঝেছিলাম গত শীতে যখন আমার উপরে হামলা প্রচেষ্টা হয়েছিলো।
বগুড়া বিএনপির ঘাঁটি। যখন বিএনপি ক্ষমতায় তখন কখনো সিপিবি বা ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের উপরে হামলা হয়েছিলো বলে মনে করতে পারিনা। আশা করি বগুড়ার বন্ধুরা আমাকে মনে করিয়ে দেবেন যদি আমি এবিষয়ে ভুল বলে থাকি।
বগুড়ার ছাত্রলীগের দুই উজ্জ্বল নেতা ঝুনু আর শান্ত আমার খুব ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধু ছিলো। এখনো আছে। যেই শহরে ঝুনু আর শান্তের মতো আওয়ামী লীগের কর্মীর জন্ম দিতে পারে সেই শহরে তুফান সরকার কিভাবে জন্মায় একই আওয়ামী লীগে এটা আমার বিস্ময়।
দশ বছরের আওয়ামী শাসন অনেক কিছুই কেড়ে নিয়েছে। আমার প্রিয় শহর বগুড়া অনেক পালটে গেছে। দিন আসলেই বদলে গেছে। আমাদের প্রিয়তম আর ভালোবাসার সব কিছুই এখন বেহাত। আমি আশা করি আমাদের লুটে নেয়া প্রিয়তম সবকিছুই খুব শিগগির আমরা সবাই ফিরে পাবো।
