Burmese soldiers in Myanmar are carrying out a genocidal agenda targeting the hundreds and thousands of Rohingyas in rape, murder and arson.

On the other side, just across the no-man’s land, Bangladeshi soldiers are extending warm reception to those Rohingya who are fleeing for lives. This is people’s army, in the real sense. This army is in no way linked to a colonial legacy. It has been raised through the great war of liberation and birth of Bangladesh.

The world should see how Bangladesh army is taking care of the refugees who are victims of a genocidal violence in a neighboring country. They have lots of things to learn from Bangladesh army.

ওপারের বার্মিজ সেনারা নিজের নাগরিকের উপরে গণহত্যা চালায়, নির্বিচারে ধর্ষণ করে, লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষের বসতবাড়ি জ্বালিয়ে দেয়। মাঝখানে নো ম্যানস ল্যাণ্ড। আর এপারেই বাংলাদেশী সেনারা পরম মমতায় তাঁদের দিকে হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয়, আশ্রয় দেয়, ভরসা দেয়।

এর নাম যদি জনগণের সেনাবাহিনী না হয় তাহলে পিপলস আর্মী বিষয়টা কী? এই আর্মি কলোনিয়ান উত্তরাধিকার থেকে গড়ে ওঠা আর্মি নয়, মুক্তিযুদ্ধের মধ্যে দিয়ে গড়ে ওঠা আর্মি। মুক্তিসংগ্রামের মধ্যে দিয়ে গড়ে ওঠা এমন আর্মি পৃথিবীর খুব কম দেশেই আছে। তাঁর মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ একটা।
