António Guterres, you, as the Secretary-General of the United Nations, have been visiting Bangladesh now to see the sufferings of the Rohingya refugees. We welcome you on this humanitarian mission. But, please remember that the Bangladesh government was forced to open the border for the refugees fleeing violence largely because of the pressure from the people of the country.
These people of Bangladesh are victims of State-sponsored violence now. We hope you will not fail to notice how our students on a justified non-violent movement in Bangladesh are being targeted in violent attacks. The Citizens of Bangladesh have always stood by the persecuted Rohingya community. But, how will these citizens support the Rohingya refugees when they themselves are turning victims of persecution and human rights violations in Bangladesh? And, it has been as long as a decade since a human rights violator regime has been ruling Bangladesh.

নিগৃহীত মানবতার পাশে দাঁড়ানো বাংলাদেশের এই জনগণই যে রাষ্ট্রীয় সন্ত্রাসের শিকার তা কি আপনি জানেন? আপনি আজকের স্থানীয় পত্রিকা দেখলেই বুঝতে পারবেন, শিক্ষার্থীদের একটি ন্যায়সংগত অহিংস আন্দোলনের ওপর সরকার কী নির্মম আক্রমণ চালিয়ে তা বন্ধ করতে চাইছে!
বাংলাদেশের যে জনগণ নিপীড়িত রোহিঙ্গা জনগোষ্ঠীর পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছে, আজ তারাই সকল মৌলিক মানবাধিকার হারা। একটি অধিকারহারা জনগোষ্ঠি কীভাবে নিপীড়িত প্রতিবেশীদের পাশে দাঁড়াবে। গত দশ বছর ধরে ক্রমাগত মৌলিক ও মানবাধিকার লঙ্ঘন করেই শেখ হাসিনার সরকার বাংলাদেশ শাসন করছে।
