Tomorrow it is Felani Day. Seven years ago on this day poor girl Felani was shot dead by the BSF on the border. As her lifeless body hung from the fencing on the border, its photo became viral across the world. The killer BSF soldier Amiya Ghosh and his supervisor were identified, but the BSF authorities did not punish any of them for Felani’s murder.
India has encircled Bangladesh with barbed fencing the way animals are kept in the zoo. In the past 45 years BSF killed at least 1,391 Bangladeshis on the border making it one of the most violent borders on the earth.
Yet, our ruling government and its supporters in Bangladesh call India a “Bondhu Rashtra” or Friendly Country.
আগামীকাল ফেলানি দিবস। আজ থেকে সাত বছর আগে ফেলানি খাতুনকে হত্যা করে কাটাতারে ঝুলিয়ে রাখে বিএসএফ। ফেলানির হত্যাকারী বিএসএফ সদস্য অমিয় ঘোষকে আইডেন্টিফাই করা গেলেও তার কিংবা তার সুপারভাইজারের কোন শাস্তি হয়নি।
ভারত রাষ্ট্র বাংলাদেশ রাষ্ট্রকে পশুর মতো কাটাতারের বেড়া দিয়ে ঘিরে রেখেছে। এই সিমান্তে খুনে বিএসএফ ৪৫ বছরে ১৩৯১ জন বাংলাদেশীকে খুন করেছে। বাংলাদেশ ভারত সীমান্ত পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে সহিংস সীমান্ত।
অথচ এই ভারত রাষ্ট্রকেই আমাদের শাসক আর তার সমর্থকেরা “বন্ধু রাষ্ট্র” বলে।
