Tania Alam was on her way to the school of her kids. Then a policeman on duty shouted: “Hit her. Despite being a woman she rides scooty this way daily, to take her two children to school. Hit her- I am asking you. You will not face any trouble.”
This is an example how a policeman is working in our country today. His duty is to protect the people. But, he is instigating other vehicle riders and drivers to hit the scooty of a woman who is carrying her two little kids to the school. The name of this #police sergeant is Saiful.
In Bangladesh police have long been accused of serious human rights violations like disappearing people and conducting extrajudicial killings. They are also notorious for extorting money from people threatening them with abduction and police cases.
In the case of Tania it has been proved that at least a section of police in Bangladesh are also anti-women. FYI: Despite her complaint against Saiful Tania got no justice in this case.
বাচ্চাদের স্কুলে দিতে যাবার সময় এক ট্রাফিক সার্জেন্ট বলছে “মারেন ভাই মারেন একে তো মেয়ে মানুষ তার উপর স্কুটি চালায়, ডেইলি দুইটা বাচ্চা নিয়ে স্কুলে দিতে আসে, মারেন, মারলে কোন সমস্যা নাই, আবার বলে, আমি বলছি মারলে সমস্যা নাই মারেন।”
এই হচ্ছে আজ আমাদের দেশের পুলিশ এর চেহারা, যাদের উচিত জনগণ কে কেউ মারলে রক্ষা করা, তারা বলে মারেন কোন সমস্যা নাই, আমি আছি ???
সাইফুল নামে এই পুলিশ সার্জেন্ট তানিয়া আলম নামের এক প্রকৌশলী মা স্কুটিতে নিজের বাচ্চাদের স্কুলে নামিয়ে দিতে আসার সময় উপস্থিত বাহনের মালিকদের এভাবেই স্কুটিতে ধাক্কা দেয়ার জন্য প্ররোচিত করে।
বাংলাদেশের পুলিশের বিরুদ্ধে গুম, বিচার বহির্ভুত হত্যা, মামলার ভয় দেখিয়ে অর্থ আদায়ের মতো গুরুতর মানবাধিকার লংঘনের অভিযোগ আছে।
শুধু তাই নয় এদের একাংশ যে ভয়ানক নারীবিদ্বেষি সেটাও এই ঘটনায় প্রমানিত হয়েছে। কারণ ভুক্তভোগী নারী অভিযোগ করেও বিচার পাননি।
