Bangladesh’s ruling party and the pro-government media keep routinely claiming that the activists in quota reform and various other movements are spreading rumours. And now, none other than the deputy press secretary of the PM has released a fake video. What do the ruling party and the media have their say on this?
Using an old video of Khaleda Zia, mischievously replacing its original audio they produced the fake version. Zia actually never made those comments what this fake video claims she said. This is a criminal offence. The issue is serious when it involves that of a former prime minister and the tallest opposition leader. The office of the PM should provide explanation on this video.

কোটা সংস্কার আন্দোলন ও অন্যান্য নানা ইস্যুতে আন্দোলনকারিদের পক্ষ থেকে গুজব ছড়ানো হচ্ছে বলে সরকারী দল আর তার দালাল মিডিয়া গলা ফাটাচ্ছে। ঠিক এমন সময় খোদ প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সহকারী প্রেস সচিব ভুয়া ভিডিও ছড়িয়েছে। এখন কি সরকারী দল আর তার মিডিয়া কি এখন কিছু বলবে?
এখানে খালেদা জিয়ার পুরোনো ভিডিও এডিট করে, নানা জায়গা থেকে বাক্য ও শব্দ এনে জুড়ে দিয়ে এমন একটা ভিডিও তৈরি করা হয়েছে যা খালেদা জিয়া কখনো বলেন নাই। এই কাজটা তো একটা ক্রিমিন্যাল অফেন্স। এটা আরো সিরিয়াস ইস্যু হিসেবে সামনে আসে যখন সেটা সাবেক একজন প্রধানমন্ত্রী এবং প্রধান বিরোধীদলের নেতাকে নিয়ে করা হয়। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দফতরের অবশ্যই এর ব্যাখ্যা দেয়া উচিত।
