I know how many people have viewed the incidents in Brahmanberia. I would like to interpret the incidents there in somewhat a different way. Here are my points:
- Although the government is strong, the Islamists in Bangladesh have the ability to raise a resistance force and put the government in trouble.
- We may like or dislike it, but the fact is, for many global reasons Islam is emerging as a potential political power. Naturally, a version of this Islam may come up as an acceptable political solution to resolve many domestic and global problems.
- But there is also a possibility that, that Islamic force might end up misleading and then annihilating itself. For example, it might create a perception among many that followers of Islam are hot-headed, terrorists by nature and intolerant to other faiths. The enemies of Islam are working on this line deftly.
- Incidents of persecution of Hindus help BJP become stronger in India. You may be wrong if you believe, those who are against the interest of Bangladesh government and India, are engineering the attacks on the Hindus in our country. These attacks may well be the handiwork of those who are friendly with the government of Bangladesh and India.
Let’s study some anti-Hindu attacks in Bangladesh. Take the case of Shyamal Kanti Bhakta. It was started by Osman family. But later, they tried to link it to Hefajat. The issue which was originally made by Selim Osman remains active for the sake of the Islamists. The issue in fact remains there as a trap for the Islamists.
Following the Brahmanberia incidents Ahle Sunnat Jamat convened a public rally. Before the rally began, they said it would be a “peaceful” programme. But the men who wore shirts and pants and were present at the rally launched the violent attacks. Ahle Sunnat leaders said, the attackers were the Hefajat activists. It is quite clear from the media reports published in the past few days that the mayhem in Brahmanberia was triggered by the direct or indirect incitements from a ruling party MP, some local ruling political leaders, a senior government administration cadre and even the seniormost police officer of the local police station.
I am sure, you all remember that May 5 (2013) incident in which scores of Hefajat men were killed and yet that group was identified as the main perpetrator of that violence. In the dark of the night the hostel of the madrassa students was attacked. In reaction, when the madrassa students ran rampage and a museum on Ustad Alauddin was targeted, the secularists- who were not moved by the loss of the life of a student- were pained by the loss of some musical instruments.
I am sure, you all have noticed how all incidents of violence are routinely blamed on Hefajat. And, some Islamist groups, knowingly or unknowingly, also take the blame of some of those attacks.
It helps them immensely if the rulers can introduce the public grievances as an anti-Hindu discontent. It even benefits BJP of India, as I said in the beginning. And, it comes also as a big relief for the rulers because the public, instead of directing their ire at the rulers, are busy targeting the Hindus. If the anti-Hindu violence spirals further India would be keen to tell the United Nations (UN) that Hindus are turning victims of genocide in Bangladesh. Don’t forget it that even without having killed anyone you can be labeled as a perpetrator in genocide. The UN will set up a tribunal and then some selected individuals will be tried and face punishments. You won’t be able to protest because the tribunal would be under the control of the UN. In such situation the authoritarian rule would continue for some more decades- until all trials by the tribunal are over.
So, try to find out first why some are pelting stones at you. Otherwise, you will end up working for the interest of others.
So, think well whether you will step into this trap of anti-Hindu hatred or violence. You will be poked by many forces to, but you all have to put your heads together and plan how you will push aside those incitements. You will make a blunder if you think that because you are Muslim only Muslims are with you. You will also be wrong if you believe that only the Hindus are standing in your support and India is on your side because you are Hindu. There are lots of conscientious people across religions and countries who are on your side. We have to stay careful that thoughtlessness of few people does not make the Muslims friendless. It’s indeed your responsibility to nurture and develop the dream of the nation which you will build with your or our best hopes.
~ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার ঘটনা, ফাঁদে পা দিয়েন না~
ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার ঘটনাকে আমি প্রচলিত ব্যাখ্যার বাইরে একটা ভিন্ন চিন্তা দিয়ে উপস্থাপন করতে চাই। আমার এই চিন্তা উপস্থাপনের আগে আমি কয়েকটা ধারণা আপনাদের বিবেচনার জন্য পেশ করছি। এই ধারনাগুলোর উপরে দাঁড়িয়েই আমি উপসংহার টানবো।
১/ সরকারের সর্বব্যাপি কর্তৃত্বের মধ্যে এই সময়েও শাসক দলের বিরুদ্ধে একটা কার্যকর প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তাকে বিপদে ফেলতে পারে একমাত্র ইসলামপন্থীরা।
২/ আমরা কেউ পছন্দ করি বা নাই করি; ইসলাম পৃথিবীতে নানা বৈশ্বিক কারণে একটি পটেনশিয়াল রাজনৈতিক শক্তি হিসেবে হাজির হচ্ছে। স্বভাবতই এই ইসলামের বিকাশমান রাজনৈতিক শক্তিসমুহের কোন একটা ভার্সান বৈশ্বিক ও দেশীয় সমস্যার এসময়ের সবচেয়ে গ্রহণযোগ্য রাজনৈতিক সমাধান হয়ে দাড়াতে পারে।
৩/ আবার হঠকারিতা ইসলামের সেই শক্তি ও সম্ভাবনাকে বেপথে নিতে পারে এই আশংকাও আছে। যেমন এভাবে বেপথে নেয়া হতে পারে; এমন একটা পারসেপশন তৈরি করে যে; মুসলমানদের মাথা গরম, স্বভাব সন্ত্রাসী, অসহিষ্ণু, ভিন্নমতের প্রতি অসনহনশীল। স্বভাবতই ইসলামের শত্রুরা সেই কাজটাই করছে নিপুনতার সাথে।
৪/ বাংলাদেশে হিন্দু নিগ্রহ ভারতে বিজেপির শক্তি বাড়ায়। হিন্দু নিগ্রহ মানেই তা সরকার ও ভারতের বিরোধী কারও কাজ এটা মনে করার কোন কারণ নাই। এটা সরকার ও ভারতের কোন বন্ধুদের কাজও হতে পারে।
এবার আসুন দেখি গত কয়েকটা হিন্দু নিগ্রহের ঘটনা। ধরা যাক শ্যামল কান্তি ভক্তের ঘটনা। এটা শুরু করেছে ওসমান পরিবার শেষে তা যুক্ত করার চেষ্টা হয়েছে হেফাজতের সাথে । সেলিম ওসমানের তৈরি ইস্যুকে ইসলামপন্থিদের জন্য ইস্যু বানিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে; যাতে তারা সেই তৈরি ফাদে পা দেয়।
ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার ঘটনায় সমাবেশ ডেকেছিল আহলে সুন্নাত জামাত। সমাবেশ ডাকার সময় বলেছে “শান্তিপুর্ন” সমাবেশ। “শান্তিপুর্ন” কথাটা লক্ষ্য করুন। এরপরে সমাবেশ থেকে প্যান্ট শার্ট পরা মানুষেরা হামলা করলো। আহলে সুন্নাত বলল “এটা আমরা করি নাই হেফাজত করেছে”। দায় পুরোটাই হেফাজতের কাধে চাপলো। এই আহলে সুন্নাত কারা তা বুঝতে ২০১৩ সালের এই রিপোর্ট টা আবার পড়ে নিতে পারেন। লিঙ্ক (http://bit.ly/2f6eAFx)। গত কয়েকদিনের ঘটনায় এটা স্পষ্ট হয়েছে, আওয়ামীলীগের এম পি, স্থানীয় আওয়ামীলীগ নেতারা, পুলিশ এবং প্রসাশনের ইউ এন ও এই ঘটনায় প্রত্যক্ষ বা পরোক্ষ মদদ দিয়েছে।
আর এর আগে ৫ই মে র ঘটনা তো আছেই; যেখানে হেফাজত কাতারে কাতারে নিহত হয়েও তারাই পালটা তাণ্ডবকারী হিসেবে চিহ্নিত হয়। মাদ্রাসা ছাত্রাবাসে রাতের আধারে হামলা করে মাদ্রাসা ছাত্র হত্যা করার পরেও ওস্তাদ আলাউদ্দনের বাদ্যযন্ত্রের বেদনা কারো কারো বুকে বেশী হয়ে বাজে। খেয়াল করেছেন, বারেবারে দায় চাপানো হচ্ছে হেফাজতের উপরে আর মাঝে মধ্যে কোন না কোন ইসলামি দল সে বুঝে হোক না বুঝে হোক কাঁধ পেতে কিছু কিছু দায় নিয়েও নিচ্ছে?
শাসক যদি গণ অসন্তোষকে হিন্দু বিদ্বেষে বলে সেদিকে ডাইভার্ট করতে পারে তাহলে লাভ অনেক। প্রথমেই বলেছি ভারতের বিজেপির লাভ। তারপরে লাভ শাসকের। কারণ যেই মানুষের শাসকের বিরুদ্ধে ফুঁসে ওঠার কথা ছিল তারাই যদি হিন্দু পিটিয়ে রাগ ঝাড়তে চায়, তাহলে তো শাসক বেচে গেল। আর লাভ আছে আরো, ঘটনা যদি লাগামছাড়া হয়ে আরো সহিংস হয়ে ওঠে; তখন একেবারে ভারত জাতিসংঘকে ডাক দেবার ছুতো পাবে; বলবে এখানে জেনোসাইড হচ্ছে। ভুলে যাবেন না, হত্যা না করেও আপনি জেনোসাইড করেছেন বলে অভিযুক্ত হতে পারেন। জাতিসংঘ এসে ট্রাইবুন্যাল বসাবে। বেছে বেছে আরো কিছু মানুষকে চরম শাস্তি দেয়া হবে, কিছু বলতেও পারবেন না, কারণ ট্রাইবুন্যাল হছে জাতিসংঘের অধীনে। আর এই সুযোগে স্বৈরশাসন চলবে আরো কয়েক দশক। কারণ ট্রাইবুন্যাল তো শেষ করতে হবে তাই না? ফলে কে যে কী উদ্দেশ্যে ঢিল ছুড়ছে তা আগে বুঝে নেবেন। নাহলে অন্যের খেদমতে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে যাবেন। এই হিন্দু বিদ্বষের তৈরি ফাঁদে পা দেবেন কী? ভেবে দেখুন।
আপনাকে উস্কাবে অনেক মহল, সামনে আরো বেশী উস্কাবে। এই উস্কানি কীভাবে বুদ্ধিমত্তার সাথে মোকাবেলা করবেন সেটা ঠিক করতে হবে সবাই মিলেই। আপনি ধর্মে মুসলমান বলে শুধু মুসলমানেরাই আপনাদের সাথে আছে সেটা ভাবলে ভুল করবেন। আবার আপনি হিন্দু বলে কেবল হিন্দুরাই আপনার পক্ষে আছে, কিংবা ভারত ও সরকার আপনার পক্ষের এটা মনে করা ভুল এবং ভিত্তিহীন। দেশেবিদেশে অনেকেই আপনার বন্ধু আছে ও থাকবে। আপনার রাজনীতি ঠিক করে দেয় আপনার পক্ষে এমন বন্ধু কেমন করে আর কীভাবে আপনাদের লড়াইয়ের পাশে থাকতে পারে। আপনার পাশে আছে বিবেকবান অসংখ্য মানুষ। তাই কয়েকজন মানুষের অবৃমিষ্যকারিতায় মুসলমানেরা যেন বন্ধুহীন না হয়ে যায় সেটা খেয়াল রাখতে হবে সবার আগে। কারণ যেই অমিত সম্ভাবনাময় ভবিষ্যৎ আপনার হাতেই নির্মিত হতে পারে সেই স্বপ্নের হেফাজত আপনার কর্তব্যও বটে।
