Song of Resistance in Dark Times

The biggest problem in the study of political history in Bangladesh is the lack of documentation. At present, the media has self-censored in such a way that it will be almost impossible for future history readers to find reliable documentation. We all know the events documented in this book, but these events will be lost from our memory five to ten or twenty years from today. That’s normal. Another problem is language. Most of the documentation is in Bengali. I started working on this documentation while I was in hiding. I started writing down the documents in Bengali and English. We also add the necessary references and videos. Attempts have been made to digitize references with QR codes. The documentation is arranged thematically in this book. Not only future researchers and readers but also the western world will know how the people of a country went through a difficult time. বাংলাদেশের রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাস অধ্যয়নের ক্ষেত্রে সবচেয়ে বড় সমস্যা ডকুমেন্টেশনের (প্রামাণ্য তথ্যের/প্রকাশনার) অভাব। বর্তমানে, মিডিয়া এমনভাবে সেলফ সেন্সরশিপ চর্চা করছে যে ভবিষ্যতে ইতিহাস পাঠকদের জন্য নির্ভরযোগ্য ডকুমেন্টেশন খুঁজে পাওয়া প্রায় অসম্ভব হয়ে পড়বে। সমসাময়িক ঘটনাগুলো পাঁচ থেকে দশ বা বিশ বছর পরে আমাদের স্মৃতি থেকে হারিয়ে যাবে। এটা স্বাভাবিক। আরেকটি সমস্যা ভাষা। অধিকাংশ ডকুমেন্টেশন বাংলায়। আমি আত্মগোপনে থাকাকালীন এই ডকুমেন্টেশনে কাজ শুরু করেছিলাম। আমি বাংলা ও ইংরেজিতে প্রামাণ্য তথ্যাবলী গ্রন্থিত করতে শুরু করি। প্রয়োজনীয় তথ্যসূত্র এবং ভিডিও লিংক যোগ করি। সেগুলোকে পৃথক অনলাইনে নিরাপদ স্হায়ী রেফারেন্স লাইব্রেরী হিসেবে রাখার বেবস্থা করি. যাতে ইতিহাসের খলনায়ক-নায়িকা ও তাদের সহযোগীরা তাদের জঘন্য ও মানবতা বিরোধী অপকর্মের ওইসব ঐতিহাসিক ডকুমেন্ট মুছে ফেলতে না পারে। কিউ আর কোড দিয়ে রেফারেন্সগুলোকে ডিজিটাইজ করার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে, যাতে এক নিমিষে পাঠক তথ্য প্রমাণ (কোথাও কোথাও ভিডিওসহ) দেখে নিতে পারেন। ডকুমেন্টেশন এই বইতে বিষয়গতভাবে সাজানো হয়েছে। শুধু ভবিষ্যৎ গবেষক ও পাঠকই নয়, বিশ্বও জানতে পারবে একটি দেশের মানুষ কীভাবে কঠিন সময়ের মধ্য দিয়ে গেছে।
